Knock-Knock Jokes

A : Knock-knock jokes? C'mon, don't we have anything interesting to talk about? Knock-knock jokes are lame!
B : Knock-knock jokes aren't lame.
A : What are you talking about? They're not funny. They're actually annoying and stupid. A complete and utter disgrace to the term 'humour'. It shouldn't even be categorised under 'humour'. It should be under 'hobbies', because of all the people who's hobby is to annoy people with a knock-knock joke. In fact, it's not a joke! It's a curse to all mankind!

(silence)

B : Are you done?

(short silence)

A : Yes... Yes I am.
B : Ok. First of all, knock-knock jokes aren't lame. They're just misunderstood.
A : Oh... Right... 'Misunderstood'... So now what? They're a troubled cult of freaks destined to take revenge on all the other jokes that ever picked on them?
B : Will you be quiet? I'm trying to talk here.
A : It's not like you gave much effort last time.
B : Hey! That wasn't my fault! It was the end of the blog post! Now just shut up.
A : Fine.
B : Anyway, like I was saying. They're misunderstood. Contrary to popular belief, these jokes are actually better than the other types.
A : What?!
B : Yes! Knock-knock jokes are never offensive. They don't speak openly of religion, sex, politics and races like the others do. Have you ever heard a knock-knock joke that was like that?
A : ...
B : For instance, Yo Mama jokes. They openly humiliate mothers'. Sex jokes. These are usually obscene and destroys people's integrity. Political jokes. They keep bringing up mistakes that politicians make or the prejudice that all politicians are corrupt. Blonde jokes. They mock people with blonde hair, trying to make them synonym with stupidity and keep the stereotype alive. Religious jokes. Very offensive to the followers of that religion. Lawyer jokes. The prejudice that all lawyers are blood-sucking parasites and will go to hell is stuffed down our throats. Racial and national jokes. Yet again, they fuel discrimination between different peoples.
A : Uh...
B : You might not have noticed all this, but jokes are actually subconsciously controlling your way of thought, just like the media. Actually, they're produced by people who have been infected by the media, and when they decide to make a joke about it, it spreads the pandemic. Some of them keep on pressing on stereotypes and prejudices, some make rated R jokes and infect innocent young minds, and some make jokes that are just down-right hurtful.
A : But...
B : Except, for one type. One measly type. One little, small type of joke that has been condescended and spitted at, mocked and discriminated, pushed around and looked down upon, and are near extinction. The knock-knock joke.
A : But knock-knock jokes aren't funny!

(long silence)

B : I never said knock-knock jokes were funny. I just said they weren't lame, because they are actually the best kind of joke you can tell anybody. Completely safe.
A : But if it's not funny, it's not a joke.
B : But if it hurts other people's feelings, it's not funny. And besides, knock-knock jokes are occasionally amusing.
A : Hmm...
B : Yeah, just think about it.
